Antiques & Collectibles

As Main Street America transitions from the tradition of Five and Dime Stores to new uses, Buchanan has found antiques and collectibles to be a natural fit.

For more than twenty years entrepreneurs have worked to restore once dilapidated storefronts to their former glory filling the once empty storefronts with unique finds and treasures from the Shenandoah Valley, the Roanoke Valley and beyond.

Buchanan invites you to take a weekend treasure hunt where you will find vintage inspiration. Discover one-of-a-kind and unique finds to add to your home décor.  We suggest you come with an empty trunk and bungee cords to take home treasures.

Travel through the Shenandoah Valley along US Route 11 to Buchanan where you can continue your search while recharging your soul. After spending a day in Buchanan, continue your search southward as you make your way through the Roanoke Valley and beyond.

There are many small towns and cities along US Route 11 which is a true “Antique Alley.” On your way from north to south, suggested stops include Strasburg, Weyers Cave, Mt. Crawford, Mt. Jackson, Woodstock, Edinburg, Stuarts Draft,  New Market, Harrisonburg, Verona, Staunton, Lexington, Buchanan, Roanoke, Christiansburg, Radford, Pulaski, Fort Chiswell, Wytheville and Bristol.

Buchanan is known for its antiques from furniture to smalls at great prices. Our prices are so reasonable that we find antique dealers scour Buchanan’s shops for great buys to resell at their shops. In 2015, Fodor's Travel designated Buchanan as one of the “Top Ten Best Antiquing Towns in the U.S.”.

As an important partner in the town’s ongoing revitalization activities, antique shops provide “incubator business” opportunities for local vendors to establish themselves and grow while contributing to the overall economic growth of our community. Please call ahead, or, check the facebook page of your favorite shops to verify hours of operation.
