The group plans monthly activities, fundraisers and maintenance of Buchanan’s most famous Civil War Era structure, the Wilson Warehouse.
With the arrival of spring weather the garden awakens at the historic Wilson Warehouse/Community House. Visitors enjoy strolling through the gardens where they will find an ancient Elm Tree and billowing boxwoods. April’s warmer temperatures bring a continued display of daffodils, the peak season of cherry tree blossoms as well as early blooming rhododendrons, redbuds and dogwoods.
The organization has been working the past few years to restore and renovate the house and grounds. Many tasks still await completion such as repointing of the smokehouse, upgrades to the heating and air conditioning, exterior lighting and more.
The Town Improvement Society makes an annual donation to the Town of Buchanan Arbor Day Fund and encourages you to do the same. This project helps the Town in its efforts to restore the Town Park as a great place for families to gather.
